About Us

Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Ryde Division of General Practice trading as GP Network Northside (GPNN) was one of the first ten demonstration Divisions of General Practice. Established in 1992, the formation of Divisions of General Practice aimed to develop a localised network of doctors operating in a defined geographical area. This would allow local general practitioners to work together to expand and integrate their services with other local area health providers and consumers in order to improve health outcomes for patients and to improve the quality of health service delivery at the local level.

The GPNN catchment borders an area covering a total of thirty-one postcodes in the local government areas of Hornsby, Ku-ring-gai, Ryde and Hunters Hill. There are over 500 GPs within 154 practices in the Network.

The diversity of projects undertaken to date reflect the Network’s desire to both assist local general practitioners to meet individual patients’ needs and to emphasise the important role for general practitioners in addressing national health priority areas.
