Practice Incentives Program

Medicare Australia through the Practice Incentives Program rewards accredited practices for the time and complexity involved in managing the ongoing health care needs of their patients and providing best practice, high quality care.

GPNN is committed to improving the health of the community through preventative health strategies and best practice management of general practices.

The GPNN Practice Support Team assists general practices to provide early intervention and optimal care, to achieve the best possible health outcomes for patients with conditions such as diabetes and asthma.

Practice Support Officers can assist practices to sign on for the Practice Incentive Payments (PIPs) and Service Incentive Payments (SIPs), and in understanding and meeting their requirements.

Incentive payments are available for:

  • Diabetes Care
  • Asthma Care
  • Cervical Screening
  • Immunisation
  • After Hours Care
  • Aged Care
  • eHealth
  • Employing a Practice Nurse
  • Quality Prescribing (National Prescribing Service)
  • Teaching medical students
