Cervical Screening

GPNN seeks to assist general practices with both resources and on-site support when practices wish to:

  • Identify patients who have not had a pap smear in the previous 2 years, using clinical software and/or NSW Pap Test Register
  • Better understand the role of the NSW Pap Test Register
  • Register for and/or access the Cervical Screening Service Incentive Payment (SIP)
  • Educate Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) women about the need for regular Pap Smears
  • Expand the role of practice nurses, including specific PN item numbers 10994, 10995, 10998 & 10999 and access training so that Practice Nurses can gain the skills to provide Pap Smears and Well Womens’ Health Checks.
